Weighing in at a whopping 11 pounds and with a length of 22.5" a little girl was born on May 12, 1995 via c-section.
Having my first baby was exciting and scary all at the same time. My husband and I couldn't have been more thrilled than we were the day that Alexis was born. We knew she was going to be a big baby, but we didn't know that she was going to be that BIG. Everyone was in awe of the enormous baby in the maternity ward.
I fell into motherhood and enjoyed my new role. It was hard at first, but luckily I had my sister to help, who was already a pro at having babies.
I loved watching her sleep, eat, smile or even just look at me, the look always made my heart melt.
She was born with 2 holes in her heart and had a heart murmur, which of course freaked us out. She was a trooper through all the tests and has never had any problems due to her condition. Over the years the holes have closed up, though they are still open a bit, it isn't as bad as it was. Whenever a new doctor listens to her heart, their face goes white cause it is a different sound and it freaks them out....it can be quite comical at times.
A shy girl from the start, she is finally starting to come out of her shell a bit more and be a bit more assertive, which is so nice to see. Alexis is an amazing athlete. She plays tennis, golf, soccer, basketball, and softball. She is a natural and I love to watch her play any sport cause she always has a smile on her face and it is never about winning with her, but about having a good time, what an amazing attribute to have.
I can't believe she is 11, 11....where did the time go?
Here are some pictures of her through the years.

Happy Birthday to my sweet baby girl, I love you so much.
