Headlights People!!!!!

Okay, so if you are driving along a busy highway and it is pouring rain and you can barely see the car in front of you than please have your headlights on. I can't see you coming up behind me and you will crash into me cause I decided to change lanes and didn't know you were there cause you didn't have your HEADLIGHTS ON!!!!!

No, I didn't have an accident, but I was freaking out that I could have and was afraid to change lanes cause there were sooooooo many people driving their cars without their headlights on. It was pretty scary. No wonder there are accidents on highways in rainy weather.

And than I saw on a regular street some jackass driving with no lights on at 8:30 at night. Guess he thought since there were streetlights he didn't need his headlights.

Please be courteous to other drivers and put your headlights on.

Conversation with a 5 year old....

Owen: "mom, I am not going to college."

Me: "why not?"

Owen: "cause I want to be with you."

Me: "well by then you won't want to be with me anymore"

Owen: "why, will you be old?"

Me: "yup, and smelly too"

Owen: "okay"

He is back in a cling-on stage and needs to be with me 24/7 or anyone for that matter. He doesn't like to be in a room alone or anywhere alone. I guess he thinks that he will be like that for the rest of his life, so he will go to school, but not college.

The mind of a child....it is amazing how it works.

All I want....

Is a darn callback.

I have called 2 dog trainers within the week and not one of them has called me back. At least acknowledge me instead of making me go more insane.

Just call back.

This phrase is said by myself, my husband and my 3 kids at least 25 times a day.

Cell Phones

The invention of the cell phone was a marvelous idea, but...

please, when talking on your cell phone do it quietly.

My husband and I were on a boat loaded with passengers and this woman decided to make all these phone calls for her job on this ride. She was so loud and giving information that we didn't need to hear and it was very unprofessional of her. We were both flabbergasted.

So if you need to talk on your cell phone please do so, but you don't need to be loud, I don't need to know your business.

Terms of Endearment

Why is it that I can watch this movie 1,000 times and I know what happens at the end, but I still bawl my eyes out like a baby?

I caught the last 20 minutes of this movie last night and I cried and cried. Why am I such a sap?

It is so heartwrenching to watch a mom lose her daughter and the daughter to lose her children...it kills me every time. I hate to think that I could die before my kids while they are young....I hate that thought.

I know that it must have broke my husbands mom's heart when she died when he was only 9 months old and his brother was 9. It kills me to think that my husband grew up without the love of his mom.

This movie makes me love my family a little bit more than I already do if that is even possible.

I just realized.....

that I will be bawling my eyes out on the first day of school.

I have really been looking forward to my youngest entering school, not because he drives me insane, but because he really needs the structure and loves to learn and hang with his friends.

Our local PTSA(parent, teacher, student association) started a BOOHOO breakfast last year for incoming kindergarten parents. We have bagels and coffee and tissues. I had made a comment that this year it should be called the YAHOO breakfast because my youngest is finally in school and I will be shouting YAHOO!!!!

Well now I am back to calling it the BOOHOO breakfast because I just realized that 3 things happen on that day.

1. Owen goes to Kindergarten.

2. Alexis enters 6th grade (I am the mother of a 6th grader, when did that happen).

3. Spencer turns 10....poor guy has his birthday on the first day of school...he will be so mad.

So on September 6th, I will be bawling my eyes out.

Homeowner's insurance....

What is the point of having it?

My mom lives in a garage apartment on my property, we had a bad thunderstorm here a week ago which resulted in her getting struck by lightning. We don't know where or how, but she lost her television, vcr, telephone and computer. They were all fried. We have been trying to get this resolved through my homeowner's insurance.

You would think that they would send someone out to look everything over and determine the next step. No, they want me to bring her computer to someone to see what is wrong with it and if it can just be fixed. Okay, but I live an hour from any computer store, easier said then done.

There is a $1,000 deductible, which in all honesty it is better to just not file a claim because then my premium will go up.

So, we pay out thousands of dollars for homeowner's insurance for what? They aren't going to cut us a check for the full amount of her loss and if we do go through insurance they will raise my rates, so can someone please tell me why we have homeowner's insurance.
